What a cookie is, briefly
A small file the site leaves in your browser so it can remember something between one page and the next. Without any, the site would forget you had logged in every time you clicked.
The necessary ones
These are always on and cannot be turned off, because without them the site does not work.
The session cookie keeps you logged in while you browse and is deleted when you close the browser. The security cookie carries a value that stops another site from submitting forms in your name. And a third remembers the choice you made here, so we do not ask you every time; that one lasts six months.
The tramadómetro sets a fourth one, only if you use it: a random number used solely to count the free checks from that browser. It says nothing about who you are and lasts a year.
The measurement one
Only if you accept it. It holds a random number that says nothing about who you are: it lets us tell that two visits came from the same person rather than two, so we count real visitors instead of counting clicks.
It lasts thirteen months. It is not your data in disguise: it is a number with no meaning outside our own database, and if you clear your browser cookies it genuinely disappears.
What there is none of
There are no third-party cookies. None for advertising, social networks or Google. Nothing we measure leaves our server, so nobody else follows you from here to other sites.
How to change your mind
At the bottom of any page there is a link to change your cookie choice. If you say no, we delete the measurement identifier right then.
You can also clear or block cookies from your browser settings. If you block the necessary ones the site will behave strangely: you will not be able to log in.
