That easy
From the family group chat to the truth, in three steps
-
1
Paste the link
That story you got on WhatsApp, a YouTube or TikTok video, a Facebook post.
-
2
We check it against sources
We look the topic up in news outlets, fact-checkers and official sources. No guessing.
-
3
You get the verdict
Fake, doubtful or real, with the reasons and the links so you can check them yourself. Ready to send to the group.
Four possible answers. None made up.
If it finds nothing to compare with, it tells you. A fake detector that guesses would be one more fake.
There are warning signs, but not enough to call it false.
Independent sources confirm the core of it.
We found nothing to compare it with. That does not mean it is true.
What it can and cannot do
Fake means a false news story, a video made with artificial intelligence to pass as real, or something that spreads with no source behind it.
- It searches the web and compares the claim with news outlets, fact-checkers and official sources.
- It shows you the sources it found, so you can check them yourself.
- It looks for signs that a video or an image was made with AI: the YouTube or TikTok label, and the generator watermark in a few frames. It does not listen to the audio, and if it finds no signs it does not tell you it is real: it tells you nobody knows.
- If it finds nothing to compare against, it tells you instead of guessing.
